Badstuber "feels great" after training return

At Bayern Munich's recovery training session after their 2-0 win in Nuremberg, Mario Götze, Thomas Müller and their team-mates applauded as Holger Badstuber ran out onto Pitch One at the team's Säbener Straße training ground. The German international, who has been injured for more than 14 months, took another small step on his difficult journey towards a comeback by completing his first running session on the Bayern turf.

"It feels great to be back on the pitch for the first time in seven months", Badstuber told FCB.de after his 15-minute session with fitness coach Thomas Wilhelmi.

Badstuber suffered a cruciate ligament injury in Bayern's 1-1 draw against Dortmund on 1 December 2012. Since then, the 24-year-old has undergone four operations. No date has yet been set for the centre-back's return, but it is unlikely that he will feature in the current Bundesliga season or travel to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
