Annike Krahn heading to Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen has successfully signed Annike Krahn. The World champion and the two-time European champion will come from Champion League finalists Paris Saint Germain as the defender has signed a three year contract with Bayer. The 116 time capped defender should improve Bayer’s back line.

“I am happy for my next task in Leverkusen and want to help this young team with my experience,” said Krahn. “After three very fun years in Paris, I wanted to come back to Germany. After all, it is no secret that I love my country and am closely connected to it. The staff in Leverkusen turned my wish into a reality and brought me to Bayer. My choice to sign for Bayer was very easy and I am happy to be here.” The centre back is currently with her team at the World Cup in Canada.

“Annike fits into our team from both a personal and sporting standpoint. She has so much experience and with her great disposition she is one of the worlds best at her position,” says Bayern coach and sporting director Thomas Obilers. Obilers and Krahn were both previously together at FCR 2001 Duisburg where they won the cup and were crowned runners up in the league. “We hope that she can improve our young team both defensively and with her great personality.”
