A fitting end to the German women’s international season. On the 26th of November (18:00 CET), Silvia Neid’s side will face England in Duisburg, in a repeat of the World Cup third place playoff. Fans will also look forward to a special moment shortly before kickoff. Women’s footballer of the year Nadine Angerer and Europe’s women footballer of the year Celia Sasic will receive an official send off from the international team.
Angerer and Sasic both retired from international football after the World Cup. Doris Fitschen had her say: "We are pleased for Celia and Natze that we can say goodbye in this way. It’s the perfect opportunity for us to say thank you." Celia Sasic is looking forward to the moment, and said on Facebook: "I look forward to seeing lots and lots of fans in Duisburg."
