10 World Champions on Player of the Year Shortlist

There are a number of candidates for the 2015 Player of the Year award, brought to you by the “Fan Club Nationalmannschaft powered by Coca-Cola.” Every player stands a good chance of lifting the player, so your vote is needed! Simply click here and vote for your favourite. Voting closes on 14th January 2016 (12:00 CET).

13 players are on the shortlist and they’ve all played in at least five of the nine international fixtures which took place in 2015. Jonas Hector played more minutes than any other Germany star this year. The Köln player was on the pitch for 754 out of a possible 810!

Ilkay Gündogan (548 minutes) and Mesut Özil (720), featured in eight internationals. André Schürrle (311), Mario Götze (479) and Jerome Boateng (586) pulled on the DFB-Shirt on seven occasions. Bastian Schweinsteiger (495), Manuel Neuer (540), Thomas Müller (536), Mats Hummels (540) and Karim Bellarabi (239) all featured on six occasions. The remaining nominees are Toni Kroos (450) and Lukas Podolski (102), who featured on five occasions.
