Germany U19 international Sanders leads Bremen to victory

SV Werder Bremen and Herforder SV have both secured tickets for the DFB Cup second round. Promoted side Bremen recorded a 3-0 win at VfL Bochum – Germany U19 women's international Stefanie-Antonia Sanders bagged the opener for Werder shortly before the break, before Katharina Schiechtl and Stephanie Goddard secured the victory in the latter stages.

Köln cruised through to the next round with a 4-1 win over Karlsruher SC. Marie Pykos got Köln off to a flying start, but Laura Bertsch levelled the scores just a few minutes later. However, goals from Lise Overgaard-Munk, Claudia Kalin and Yvonne Zielinski took the game away from the Oberliga side after the break, and sent Köln through.

Anna Haberecht bags a brace for Billerbeck

DJK VfL Billerbeck caused an upset against FFV Leipzig, beating the second-division side 3-2. A brace from Anna Haberecht and a late winner from Maren Schulte turned the game around for Billerbeck, after Louise Herrmann and Maria Ebersbach had put the favourites ahead in the first half.

Meanwhile Herforder SV, relegated to the second division last season, stormed to a commanding 6-0 victory over Hallescher FC. Christabel Oduro, Louisa Lagaris, Giustina Ronzetti, Lea Althof and Pia-Marie Salzmann were on target for HSV.
