The German U21 national team will face interesting opponents in the European Championship group stages in Poland. This morning, the draw for the nine groups was made in Nyon, Switzerland. The German team is in Group 7 and will face Russia, Austria, Finland, Azerbaijan and the Faroe Islands.
The nine group winners qualify directly for the final stages of the tournament, the four runners-up with the best records against the teams first, third, fourth and fifth in their group will go into the play-offs with two ties to determine the last two qualifiers. The hosts Poland have automatically qualified.
Qualification group stages will take place between the 23rd March 2015 and 11th October 2016 with the play offs happening from the 7th to 15th November next year.
